CBD and Pain Relief

Why try natural pain remedies
If you’re considering CBD, chances are you’re already familiar with the benefits of natural pain relief. One benefit is simply avoiding the negative side effects of traditional pain medications. CBD inhibits the absorption of anandamide, a cannabinoid found naturally in our bodies. Anandamide influences appetite, mood, pain and even fertility, and it’s known as the “bliss molecule.” Inhibiting absorption leads to increased anandamide levels and, as a result, better management of pain.
Another way CBD affects pain is by inhibiting glutamate levels in the spinal cord and brain. “Glutamate is associated with the transmission and increased sensations of pain,” (Health Canal, 2020).
CBD can also affect pain by targeting the alpha-3 glycine receptor. This leads to reduced chronic pain and inflammation.
The list goes on, and it will continue to go on as more studies become available. CBD only recently joined the mainstream medical playing field, but now that it’s here, the obstacles that once prevented cannabis research are disappearing.
The best CBD for pain relief
Now that you’ve decided to give CBD a try, it’s time to decide which product is right for you. The two best options for pain relief are CBD tinctures and topical CBD products.
